John & Lien came from Texas to visit San Francisco and the Bay Area, and what better place to stay than at the Ritz-Carlton in Half Moon Bay? This grand hotel is situated on a cliffside overlooking the Pacific Ocean, and there is a nice trail with colorful vegetation that runs along the cliff. Beneath it is a sandy beach, perfect for a sunset walk.

After a romantic stroll down the coastal trail, John & Lien walked down to the beach, where they enjoyed the calm waves and the sunset. Upon returning to the cliffside, John showed the ring, popped the question, and she said YES! What a wonderful welcome to the California coast for this lovely couple — congrats you two!

Being avid hikers, Jeremy and Nicole took advantage of their trip to the Bay Area to find some new spots to explore. The Linda Mar Beach/Pacifica State Beach is one of my favorite spots around here, so I’m really glad Jeremy liked my suggestion! It’s a pretty easy trail which goes up along a cliff facing the Pacific Ocean and offers beautiful views of the beach and ocean down below. Jeremy led his future wife to an overlook at the edge of the cliff before dropping down on one knee, giving them a beautiful backdrop for the proposal. [ read more … ]

Half Moon Bay is just a short drive down Highway 1 from our home in Pacifica, and offers some really beautiful scenery and quiet spots that can’t be found in San Francisco. On one of our weekends off, Annie and I took a walk along the Half Moon Bay coastal trail near the Ritz-Carlton, and we thought to ourselves what a wonderful place it would be for a proposal… so we were really excited when Amar contacted us and said he liked it too! Liz and Chris originally planned on having their photos taken at Ravenswood Historic Site in Livermore, but due to their early closing hours we changed our location to Pacifica State Beach. And I’m so glad we did because we got REALLY lucky that day — I’ve never seen Pacifica State Beach this empty before, as we were literally the only three people there that got to enjoy the gorgeous sunset that day! Dylan surprised Christina with a stunning ring on his “business trip” last weekend! Earlier that day, Annie and I had been checking the hourly weather forecast every 15 minutes because there was an up-to-90% chance of showers at 5pm when Dylan was supposed to drop down on his knee. By the time we arrived at the cliffs at around 4, it was already pouring and the wind was crazy.
