We love it when proposals include dogs, and Brett’s plan included theirs in the cutest way. Their pup is like a daughter to Jessica, so Brett had a dog tag custom engraved to read, “Mom, please tell Brett yes,” and carried it with him as the three of them made their way down to Moss Beach. Just a few weeks before moving to San Francisco from the east coast, Max & Kara flew in for a visit over the long Fourth of July weekend. Little did she know that he had a Golden Gate Bridge surprise engagement all planned out for her, complete with champagne on the beach… just in time to make San Francisco their special place before their move! Kara was so excited she could hardly contain her jubilation, and Max was just relieved to have the weight of the surprise and anticipation finally off his shoulders, haha. Jayme is very much a planner — in fact, we were in touch more than a month before her proposal to talk about locations and ideas, and after deciding on the ideal spot, she even scouted it out just to make sure it was the perfect place. Michael and Sam brought along their dog Goose for their engagement shoot. He’s super cute (I couldn’t stop kneading the rolls on his neck…) and was so happy to get out and go on a hike with his parents! You can also tell in a lot of these photos that he’s the one running the show, haha. We were able to fit a lot of variety into two hours: starting from Slackers Hill for a great view of San Francisco and the sunny sky, then heading over to the Marin Headlands and ending at Rodeo Beach for sunset. In between shots during M&T’s engagement session, their puppy Ruby ran around in circles, ate grass, tasted ocean foam, and… pooped in the woods. Some of my favorite photos feature M&T looking perfectly calm and romantic, juxtaposed with Ruby acting like a big goofball inches away in the same frame. And we loved every minute of it.
