I had been wondering when Daniel would propose to his girlfriend Michelle, and as it turns out, that day finally came last weekend. I was really excited in the days leading up to it… until the apocalyptic smoke hit the Bay Area. If you’re reading this from the future when those memories are (hopefully) a long-distant past, there was a week in 2020 when much of the west coast was engulfed in flames, and the resulting smoke covered the skies, turning everything orange. Just over a year ago, we quietly hid in the (figurative) bushes as Jason and Xiaonan took a walk through the quiet and sheltered Muir Woods, until they ended up on one of the wooden bridges where he proposed (and where, of course, she said yes!). As California starts to open back up from its coronavirus-induced shutdown, we’ve started getting back to work with engagement shoots, with social distancing of course — gone are the days when we could greet our couples with a hug! Brian & Katie’s engagement session was our first after being shut down for over two months, and we are so excited to share.

It was love at first sight for me. When he first stepped through that door, I just couldn’t keep my eyes off of him. Yes, that’s right, this giant fluffball Benji is an absolute heart-stealer! Okay in all seriousness, Rudy and Erin are a really sweet couple. They’re both full of smiles and radiance, and we loved the energy we felt when we first met them. One week ago, Sahil and Neha made their way down the trail from the Half Moon Bay Ritz Carlton for a coastal cliffside proposal that really could not have been any more perfect. This day was filled to the brim with the unbridled joy and laughter of not just the happy couple (of course), but also their families and even yours truly, the photographers.
