Van & Matt met when they were at Stanford (David’s alma mater!) and are getting married next April. They’re an active and outdoorsy couple and because they love hiking, we went to Thornton Beach in Daly City to take some photos on the hike and at the beach. This post starts with some romantic photos on the beach and then shows some fun shots on our hike. Congratulations Van and Matt!

Journey was turning two years old! We followed him around Alamo Square in his cute “2” outfit and Pharrell’s happy hat and got some cute pics of him playing and dancing. Happy second birthday, Journey!

Abrar and Sarah came all the way from Toronto to visit this beautiful city, and Annie was excited to meet some fellow Canadians and to shoot this great moment for them! What touched us the most was the thought Abrar put into planning this moment, and also the ring — mined in Ontario and cut in Saskatchewan, representing their respective home provinces. Ed contacted us a month ago from Michigan telling us he’s going to propose to his love, Jenna, at the beautiful Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. David and I were so excited that we immediately took a trip to the city just to find the ideal spot for Ed to pop the question. It was a complete surprise for Jenna and the whole photo session was extremely emotional! They were so full of joy that we didn’t have to pose them at all for the entire session. Everything was perfect on the day of, with the clouds arriving just in time to be a perfect backdrop for the Golden Gate Bridge portraits.

These two lovebirds met in Kansas and later came all the way to California to begin a new journey in their lives. Since they love watching baseball games, we thought we’d bring them to a baseball field and shoot some fun photos there. Congratulations to Ellen & Isaac on your new chapter together!
