Ryley & Angela’s Sunset Proposal at the Rodeo Beach Cliffs

Some proposals unfold like a perfect little movie, and this one had every scene. R arrived early with me at the Rodeo Beach cliffs, the Pacific Ocean sparkling below us and the sun turning to gold as it neared the horizon. While we waited for their friends to “casually” bring A over (they’d gone dress shopping for another friend’s wedding earlier in the day), R got to work. He spread a cozy blanket, tucked flowers into place, and lined the overlook with an aisle of candles, turning this patch of hillside into the sweetest little sanctuary.

When A appeared at the top of the trail, R walked up the hill, took her hand, and led her down to the blanket, the ocean rolling beneath them. Then he dropped to one knee. Happy tears, laughter, and a very enthusiastic “yes!” followed! We soaked in the glow afterward with a few portraits, wandering the rocky ocean bluffs while the sun slipped toward the horizon. The light turned buttery and soft, catching her hair and giving them both a warm glow, before finally dipping into the sea.
