Surprise proposals are always so special to us, and some are uniquely distinctive in a way that makes them extra memorable. Last weekend, Scott decided to propose to his girlfriend Briana at Bernal Heights, a significant location for them since it’s right next to their home in San Francisco.

Where should I start? Emily and Max are two lovebirds who are just sooooo in love with each other, and I think they must’ve taken up modeling as their secret second career, because they were so easy and comfortable in front of my cameras. Emily really loves the beach vibe, so for their engagement session we went to the Half Moon Bay Coastal Trail. Treasure Island has always been one of my favorite places for photos, yet it’s often underappreciated and overlooked. It offers a beautiful view of both the San Francisco city skyline and the Bay Bridge, and the sunset colors are just amazing. Sutro Baths is, by far, our most popular location for engagement photos. But not so much for proposals, and for good reason — logistically it’s quite a bit more complicated than other San Francisco locations, and while that’s not really an issue with normal photo shoots, surprise proposals are special in that we can’t interact with our couple and guide them.
