It’s not often that we get up early for photo shoots — in fact, we’ve been up Slackers Hill more than 30 times, and this is our very first time at sunrise — but the morning sun can be the best light of the day. As he was planning his surprise proposal and considering possible locations, Cole decided he wanted a location with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background. Since San Francisco has been the home of their relationship together, the bridge is the perfect symbol of their past, present, and future. This particular spot at Cavallo Point is actually one I knew about but had never been to myself, so it was great to shoot a very unique set of proposal photos for Cole & Madeline plus a few more fun photos afterwards! I loved her reaction — so happy, surprised, and genuine. Congrats to both!

Last weekend, Alex brought Lauren up to a fantastic vista point with a sweeping Golden Gate Bridge view, for a small, romantic picnic… or was it? In reality, he was planning to pop the question and wanted a beautiful SF backdrop for that special moment. As the two walked up the hill and towards the bridge, I quietly got into position to capture it all. Lauren was very, very excited — if she hadn’t been eagerly waiting for this moment for a while, it certainly looked that way to me! — and even wiped away a joyful tear as Alex asked for her hand in marriage.
