For Max and Nina, the West Bluff picnic area wasn’t just a pretty place by the water. Cristian and Arra’s proposal on Treasure Island came together with the help of someone very important: Arra’s mom. She set the whole surprise in motion by visiting San Francisco for Mother’s Day weekend and telling Arra she wanted to spend the evening with her. That little plan brought them out to Treasure Island, while Cristian and a few family members quietly made their way there too, staying out of sight until the timing was just right.

September often brings coastal fog, but the winds were fully with them for this occasion: not only was there beautiful sunset light at Slackers Hill, but just enough fog built up in the distance to give us an almost surreal backdrop.
