Brandon and Kara chose the most amazing day to visit San Francisco. After hitting all the usual spots during the day, they wrapped up in the evening with a short hike up to Battery Spencer, at the edge of the Marin Headlands with its beautiful view overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge and the City of San Francisco. After planning a getaway to San Francisco and Napa for himself and his girlfriend, Michael contacted us to set up a surprise photo shoot for his proposal at the Palace of Fine Arts, one of the most beautiful and iconic landmarks in the city. When the day came, we checked the forecast and it was supposed to rain all day, so we actually loaded up the car with some lights and rain gear to make some cool photos in the rain.

Luck was on their side, however, as the rain paused just long enough for a romantic stroll around the Palace of Fine Arts and for her to give a joyful, enthusiastic “YES!” [ read more … ]

I absolutely adore Josh & Dylan’s cute love story! They actually met in FIRST GRADE (!!) and finally decided to go on their first date while in college, then visited Battery Spencer afterwards to enjoy the grand view of the Golden Gate Bridge. About a week ago, they revisited the Bridge again — and this time, Josh brought with him a big surprise in a little box! I’m so excited to share these photos of this special moment, beautiful couple, and gorgeous backdrop. Congrats you two!

Tammy and Chris exchanged their “I do”s at The Bridges Golf Club in San Ramon under a bright and sunny summer sky. For this couple, the most important part of their wedding was the guests, and above all, their family. Tammy carried with her a rosary with her father’s picture and kept it wrapped around her left hand during the ceremony, and she also lit a tribute candle in his memory. Tammy’s brother walked her down the aisle, and later shared a very touching dance with her during the reception. On the other side of the aisle, Chris chose his father to be one of his groomsmen — something I totally think more grooms should do! — and to unite them in marriage, Chris’s uncle, a priest, performed the ceremony. This sweet couple flew all the way from their home in Calgary to San Francisco — where they had their first date four years ago. We had gotten so used to seeing the summer fog, and the especially-thick cover earlier that week, that when we arrived at Baker Beach to capture I&J’s proposal, the sight of the Golden Gate Bridge actually felt strange. It was as if the bridge was painted or didn’t belong there. And the sunset that night was nothing short of amazing, with its golden glow accentuating the color of the bridge. [ read more … ]
