Arthur had been planning for this moment for a long time and contacted us more than a month in advance to discuss the location and logistics as getting great photos was very important to him. He and Nicole are both active duty in the Coast Guard on opposite coasts, so it’s been really hard for them to find time together. I’m glad Arthur was able to take some time off and come to this beautiful city of San Francisco to pop the big question, and I’m sure that week must have been very happy and exciting for them! Rudy and Sophie’s story goes back several years to before Rudy was a student at Stanford. When Annie and I met Rudy a couple days before he proposed, he described Sophie as the special one who helped drive his current ambitions and gave him the motivation to pursue graduate studies at Stanford, so it was only appropriate that he proposed to her on campus. On the morning of the big day, he came by to drop off some roses and champagne with us, and we brought those to Stanford Memorial Church along with speakers to play his special request — Endless Love by Lionel Ritchie & Diana Ross. Jaspal contacted me a couple weeks back and had everything planned out — on a nice Saturday morning, he and his girlfriend Sabrina would drive out from the California Central Valley all the way to Garrapata State Beach (a bit south of Carmel-by-the-Sea and Monterey), then he’d propose on rocky cliff overlooking this beautiful beach where they had been a few times before. A beautiful couple who is both deeply in love and also willing to try anything in front of our cameras + a little creativity from us = an oh so romantic session! David and I loved this shoot and every single one of their photos.

We walked around Crissy Field, drove around the City of San Francisco, hiked up some stairs to the Coit Tower, and ran across some busy streets — and it was all worth it in the end.
