Austin & Lauren’s Proposal at the San Francisco Botanical Garden

For his marriage proposal, Austin chose the San Francisco Botanical Garden, a spot that he and Lauren often visit. He was actually really thorough in his planning, going to different spots, snapping some photos, and asking for feedback both from his friends and from us about the different possibilities. Eventually, he settled on an isolated spot, neatly hidden away from the main path and passers-by.

On the day of the proposal, we arrived a little early to scout out the area. (Pro tip: entry is free before 9AM 😀 ) As luck would have it, the weather wasn’t fully cooperative that morning: the sun hadn’t cleared the morning clouds yet, and so the spot was really dark and the ground was still wet. But we walked around a bit and found a really cute little pond nearby, and since Austin was familiar with the gardens, we rerouted there. We (the photographers) split up and camped out on opposite sides of the pond to capture the moment from different angles.

When they arrived, Austin posed Lauren for a quick photo, and as she took a step towards the water, he showed her the gorgeous ring he’d been hiding and asked her to marry him. Lauren was so very excited, and we truly enjoyed and appreciated being there to capture it all on camera. Take a look below at one of the happiest San Francisco proposals, and congrats to A&L!
