Cristian and Arra’s proposal on Treasure Island came together with the help of someone very important: Arra’s mom. She set the whole surprise in motion by visiting San Francisco for Mother’s Day weekend and telling Arra she wanted to spend the evening with her. That little plan brought them out to Treasure Island, while Cristian and a few family members quietly made their way there too, staying out of sight until the timing was just right.

Jack picked a spot that already meant something to them, which always makes a proposal feel a little extra special. He chose Ina Coolbrith Park, a place close to home that he and Jess visit often and one that already felt woven into their everyday life. He told me they go there a fair amount, and that anytime she goes for a walk, she ends up there. H put a lot of thought into making this proposal feel truly personal, and one of the sweetest parts was that he teamed up with L’s sister behind the scenes to help keep everything a surprise. By the time they arrived at the overlook, the whole plan had come together perfectly.
