Max & Nina’s Crissy Field Surprise Proposal with Family

Crissy Field has a uniquely beautiful view of the Golden Gate Bridge, but I always love when a proposal spot has a little bit of personal history behind it too. For Max and Nina, the West Bluff picnic area wasn’t just a pretty place by the water. It was somewhere they had created memories together before, which made it a natural place for Max to bring Nina back for one very big surprise.

With the bridge glowing behind them, he led her into position and got down on one knee. The light was beautiful, the setting was classic San Francisco, and Nina’s reaction was so sweet to photograph. It was a wonderfully picturesque moment for just the two of them.

And then, as I posed them for some more photos, their second surprise started heading our way. Nina’s family had traveled all the way up from Southern California and was waiting nearby to celebrate with them. After Max and Nina had a few quiet moments together, everyone came in for hugs, congratulations, and happy tears.

We continued taking a few portraits around Crissy Field, making the most of the warm sunset light and that iconic Golden Gate Bridge backdrop. Then Max and Nina headed off to dinner and a third surprise — their friends were waiting at a nearby bar to continue the celebration together. Congrats to Max & Nina!
