Martin’s Beach is a hidden gem of Half Moon Bay with an interesting story (see Wikipedia). Past its very unassuming entrance is a quiet beach with calm waves, coastal cliffs, and an absolutely perfect ocean sunset view. It’s a spot that Ozzy and Ashley had stumbled upon and shared memories together in the past, and it’s where he chose to ask for her hand in marriage. This was a very exciting moment to witness, and I love the energy jumping out of their photos 🙂 As they say, “never turn your back on the ocean” — you might just get a surprise if you do!

Long-distance relationships are hard (we would know!)… and certainly even more of a challenge in COVID times. So we have a ton of respect and admiration for those couples with the strength and dedication to make it work. On the evening of their third anniversary, J brought L (and their very energetic golden retriever) to one of her favorite places, the Pillar Point Bluff in Half Moon Bay, for a very special question he had in mind for her. Amy and David’s engagement session was relaxed, fun, and perhaps most of all, beautiful! We had initially planned on starting at Pier 7 and then heading over to Sutro Baths for sunset, but alas, the weather that day wasn’t meant to be. The fog over Richmond/Sunset remained thick through the afternoon, so we flipped our shoot around to start by the oceanside and catch sunset at the Embarcadero waterfront instead, where the sun was still peeking out over the clouds.
