Austin and Brittany planned a destination wedding (in Mexico!!), and wanted to have their save-the-date/engagement photos taken near the Golden Gate Bridge. We drove along the windy road near Battery Spencer up to the top with the tunnels where Austin proposed, then headed back to Baker Beach to run around and bury our feet in the sand. Ryan followed Catherine to California from Omaha over a year ago. He just moved back to Omaha the weekend after our photo shoot, and this time, Catherine will follow him there. They decided to have their save-the-date photos taken at Baker Beach to document their wonderful journey together here in the Bay Area. The day was a little overcast which made Catherine’s dress color pop in the photos (really pretty!) AND more importantly, we got the whole beach completely to ourselves and got some great shots! Hannah and Daren live in the city and took me to a hidden spot in their neighborhood — the colorful tiled steps on 16th Ave. We walked over the top of the steps and around a hill that had a breathtaking view overlooking San Francisco, and we ended our session at Sutro Baths as the sun set over the Pacific Ocean. We had such a fun time shooting engagement photos for Jessica & Mike at Baker Beach. These two sure are a lively and merry couple, and their personalities really show in these photos. They were both constantly laughing and smiling, never keeping the same expressions for more than a moment, leading to lots of great, natural photos. Their wedding is in just three months, and we can’t wait to be there. I can only imagine what a blast that will be!

Arthur had been planning for this moment for a long time and contacted us more than a month in advance to discuss the location and logistics as getting great photos was very important to him. He and Nicole are both active duty in the Coast Guard on opposite coasts, so it’s been really hard for them to find time together. I’m glad Arthur was able to take some time off and come to this beautiful city of San Francisco to pop the big question, and I’m sure that week must have been very happy and exciting for them!
