Monica & Julian’s Fairview Metropolitan wedding in Oakland was as beautiful as it was special. Both originally Bay Area natives, Andrew and Deirdra first met in San Francisco and their relationship blossomed here. The next chapter in their story began last year when Andrew proposed while they were in London during a trip across Europe, and we feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to join them on their wedding day a few weeks ago at the Wild Oak Saddle Club!

The morning began at an Airbnb where Deirdra got ready with her mom and bridesmaids, and at the Flamingo where Andrew and the guys (and Lady, that cute forever puppy you see in the photos) went through their preparations. Deirdra had a not-so-little surprise for the girls: they’d be getting a ride on Rosie, the big red trolley, and they had a blast together! But first, a quick detour. Steve and Emily met five years ago at The Grand, a nightclub that Steve describes as “the San Francisco Asian American landmark.” Steve had gone with Simon, a friend he had just met at work, and Simon decided that they’d go talk to some girls at the club. We’ve adored Adam & Anna’s love story since the moment we met them. Anna’s family has been beekeepers for several generations, and Adam proposed with jars of A&A’s very first batch of honey. We photographed their engagement session at Anna’s parents’ home, right where their bees are kept. And so it should come as no surprise that cute little bee-related details made their way into A-squared’s wedding day too.
