Nate & Katie’s The Highlands Estate Cloverdale Wedding

A few months ago, we met up with Nate & Katie for their engagement photos. It was a pretty cold and overcast day if I recall correctly, quite unlike the warm, sunny Cloverdale weather on their wedding day at The Highlands Estate, but one thing that didn’t change even a tiny bit were their smiles and the way they looked at each other (ok those were two things). We just loved all of the little mini-interactions between Nate and Katie, like the cute little forehead bump they’d sometimes do 🙂 Actually, one of our favorite moments of the whole wedding was their first look and private vow exchange. It was a quiet, emotional exchange with lots of smiles, hugs, and body language that said “I can’t wait to marry you” — a beautiful moment before taking their vows in front of everyone.

Speaking of ceremony, how gorgeous is that backdrop with the fall colors? The Highlands Estate is always a joy for us to shoot at and is a beautiful wedding venue; usually they do ceremonies in a different spot, but the space Nate & Katie picked really showcased the colorful autumn leaves. After their ceremony, we stayed back for a bit and grabbed a few more wedding portraits by their triangle arbor and the venue’s signature oak tree. Our fun didn’t end there, of course. Between the ceremony and sparkler send-off at the end of the night, there was an action-packed reception, with a well-practiced first dance, a couple of fun parent dances, and a ton of energetic guests joining in on the dance floor.

We couldn’t have asked for a better couple to spend the day with and are excited to share some of the highlights!
