During our first phone call, Derek was bubbling with excitement and I immediately knew their proposal would be a great moment. On a warmly-lit autumn afternoon, this lovely pair took a walk down Pier 7 at the Embarcadero where they had their first date. Weston & Laura now live in Austin, but first met in San Francisco so the city, and this pier especially, hold a special meaning to them.

Weston had prepared a great trip for the two of them — first a trip to Paris, where Laura must have kept wondering, “Is he going to propose? Durell’s proposal to Karla at Stanford was thoughtfully planned, beautifully prepared, and perfectly executed. The two had met each other many years ago as Stanford students, and so it was fitting for the proposal to be at the Stanford main quad near the Stanford Memorial Church. Durell dropped by the day before to check out the area, and he even sent us a selfie of him in the spot where he was planning to propose so that we’d know exactly where to lie in wait. Since he lives in London and she’s local to the Bay Area, his trip was a complete surprise to her — but everyone else was in on it. Let me start this by saying David and Jeremy’s proposal was an extremely emotional one, probably the most touching I’ve ever seen! How great was it, you ask? I couldn’t even see through my camera viewfinder at some points during David’s proposal because I was tearing up! I was so touched by the mad love between these two. David caught Jeremy off guard with this great surprise on their date night, and Jeremy was completely in shock! After responding with a yes, Jeremy decided to bend down on his knee to ask David the same question — so precious!!

D&J, your genuine love for each other created a magical moment that we’ll never forget. I’m so happy to announce that David and Jeremy are engaged!!!
