Michael and Lauren are an outdoorsy couple who enjoy hiking, nature, and being outside, and both their proposal story and these engagement photos reflect that — both were in spots that rank among our favorite open, nature-y spaces here in the Bay Area. A couple weeks ago, we drove up into Marin for their Mt Tam sunset engagement shoot, and boy was it everything I was hoping for! Tiffany and William put together their entire wedding at the Willow Heights Mansion in just a few months — and it was an elegant one, artfully incorporating elements of both Asian and western culture into one beautiful gathering. The day started off with traditional events like the hair combing ceremony, door games (which provided great entertainment to the bride, bridesmaids, and photographers alike), and tea ceremony, before moving into an outdoor wedding ceremony in front of the gorgeous Morgan Hill mountain backdrop. This day marked several firsts for Cory & Eric. Besides of course being their first official day as “hugsbands” (see the pic of their ring box!), it was also only their second time having professional photos taken together (the first being their engagement photos), and it was their first same-sex wedding as they had never attended one before! They wanted their wedding to reflect California, and the venue they chose, The Club at Ruby Hill, does this wonderfully with its golden California colors and rolling hills without being over the top.
