Ionel & Katie’s Half Moon Bay Ritz-Carlton Golf Course Proposal

Ionel planned such a sweet proposal for Katie at the Half Moon Bay Ritz-Carlton golf course, choosing a spot right along the coast where the grass opened into the endless sky and ocean. With the soft light and wide-open bluff behind them, it was the perfect place for a quiet, beautiful moment together.

When he got down on one knee, Katie glowed with happiness, literally bouncing up and down in joy. After the initial excitement, we took a few photos along the bluff, with the ocean, dramatic clouds, and cliffs making a beautiful backdrop for the start of their next chapter.

One of my favorite parts of this proposal was how thoughtfully it was set up — from a distance, their friends were hidden far away, watching the whole thing unfold as the two of them were silhouetted against the sky. It made the moment feel private and intimate for Ionel and Katie, while still being shared by the people who were so excited for them. After the proposal, the couple walked back to the hotel, where Katie realized that everyone was there waiting for them, and I snuck in a few more shots before leaving them to celebrate.
