Zander & Kyla’s Moon Viewing Garden Surprise Proposal

Zander had a very specific vision for his proposal to Kyla: something quiet, intentional, and tucked away. So he reserved the Moon Viewing Garden at the San Francisco Botanical Garden — and when we say “reserved,” we mean reserved. An employee from the Garden was waiting on-site to keep the space clear so that when Zander and Kyla arrived, it would feel like they had the whole little world to themselves.

When the two got near, Kyla actually had the idea to go to the Moon Viewing Garden and take some selfies there. Kevin, who was keeping the space empty for them, played along very naturally, telling Kyla that there was going to be a wedding ceremony there soon but that they could hop over for a few moments if they were quick. As Zander and Kyla wandered in and stepped onto the wooden viewing platform above the pond, surrounded by soft greenery and that beautifully twisted tree canopy, he turned to face her, and then, right there on the platform, got down on one knee.

Kyla’s reaction was beautiful, and even from afar, we enjoyed seeing the joy and expressiveness on her face. After a few hugs (and a few deep breaths), we took our time with portraits around the pond — playful, cozy, and filled with afternoon sunlight.

Congrats to Zander and Kyla on such a heartfelt, beautifully planned moment. And shoutout to Kevin for helping make it feel so private and seamless!
