Connie & Jonasel’s Hakone Japanese Garden Wedding

Connie and Jonasel’s Hakone Japanese Garden wedding was a fairy tale with a Silicon Valley flavor. The morning started just down the road at Connie’s parents’ home, where everyone got ready amid happy chaos in a cozy setting. One of the details we especially adored was Connie’s dress. With its softly draped sleeves and delicate cape, it gave off a hint of Elsa, very fitting for this couple, who are big fans of Disney — Jonasel even proposed at a Disney resort!

Over at the Gardens, they shared their first look on the wooden arch bridge, with the pond quiet below and trees glowing in the summer sun. After exploring the grounds and taking photos at the bamboo forest, it was time for the ceremony! Guests shaded themselves with parasols while C&J exchanged vows, hugged their parents, and walked out beaming, all while framed by lush greens and bright florals. Cocktail hour turned into dinner beneath the trees, lanterns, and string lights as the sky shifted to twilight. Speeches were heartfelt, the dance floor filled quickly, and the whole evening felt warm and easy — just like how C&J are together.

From getting ready at home to their first look on the pond and a garden celebration under the lights, Connie and Jonasel’s wedding was delightful, personal, and so much fun. Congratulations to you two and to the whole family!

P.S. A cool tidbit we found out is that Connie’s dad spent 30+ years building imaging tools at Adobe, creating the foundations of the very software we used to edit these photos!
