Billy & Julia’s Wedding at the Marin Art & Garden Center
The story of Billy and Julia is one that had been slowly blooming for years, and we’ve been blessed with the unique honor of witnessing some of their happiest moments, from their proposal at the SF Botanical Garden to their summer wedding at the Marin Art & Garden Center.
On their wedding day, they each finished getting ready onsite before meeting for a first look beneath the trees. Vows were exchanged privately there, just the two of them, before they headed over to a quiet courtyard to join family and sign the ketubah — an art piece carefully created by a talented aunt — that looked right at home in this living gallery of flowers and light. It was a beautiful reflection of their communities weaving together.
Both the garden ceremony and dinner reception were outdoors, under a warm summer sun and surrounded by colorful gardens, lots of love, and a record-breaking amount of happy tears. During dinner, under strands of café lights, friends and family rose one by one with stories that were funny and deeply rooted, fitting for two people who have known each other almost twenty years and have spent the last decade side by side. One truly special touch we (and the guests!) loved was the personal notes: Billy and Julia left hand-written, heartfelt notes for every guest to find at their dinner tables, which shows just how much everyone in their circle means to them.
Afterwards came the dancing, which was a true highlight of the day. Inside, the evening shifted from romantic to upbeat in the best way. Billy and Julia glided into their first dance and the sweetest parent dances, and Julia and her dad surprised everyone with a tap dance performance. From there, the energy never dipped. When “Fireball” hit, buckets of Fireball shots appeared and the party kicked into overdrive.
What an amazing day of celebration this was! Billy and Julia, thank you for letting us witness the quiet glances, the loud cheers, and everything in between, and congratulations again!!
