Kanwal & Harshad’s Outdoor Art Club Wedding

August was a whirlwind of weddings for us, and Kanwal & Harshad’s Outdoor Art Club wedding was a wonderful way to kick it off. It was actually a multi-day event involving a fusion of Indian and Muslim traditions, and we had a blast capturing all the love and joy among our wonderful couple, their family, and all their friends and guests.

We first visited Harshad and Kanwal’s lovely home in the East Bay a couple of months ago for their engagement photos. When I returned in August for their mehndi, I could barely recognize it — the decorations were so beautiful and festive that it looked like a special-purpose event venue! All the colors, the excitement, and the energy were a ton of fun to capture, and you can see a few of the photos from that day below.

On the main wedding day, we started off with Kanwal & Harshad’s first look in a beautiful patch of redwoods at Old Mill Park in Mill Valley, and after taking some photos there, we headed over to the Outdoor Art Club for the ceremony. It was a seamless blend of different traditions, smoothly officiated by the bride’s sister and featuring several family members’ speeches and blessings. One thing we’ll also remember from the ceremony is having to climb into a tree to shoot over the guests because there was no center aisle. Anything to get the shot, right? (If you look closely, you’ll still see some heads in one of the down-the-aisle shots… neither David nor the tree is very tall.)

Congrats to Harshad and Kanwal, and check out some of their highlights below!
