I had been wondering when Daniel would propose to his girlfriend Michelle, and as it turns out, that day finally came last weekend. I was really excited in the days leading up to it… until the apocalyptic smoke hit the Bay Area. If you’re reading this from the future when those memories are (hopefully) a long-distant past, there was a week in 2020 when much of the west coast was engulfed in flames, and the resulting smoke covered the skies, turning everything orange. Originally from Texas, Krysten came to California and fell in love with Kevin, the first cowboy that she met here. Before moving back to Texas, they decided to take some engagement photos here at Thornton Beach. David and I had a ton of fun shooting with Krysten & Kevin and we think the photos really show who they truly are as a couple: some football on the beach followed by a super fun powder paint fight, a western theme with a cowboy hat and boots, and finally some gorgeous ocean sunset photos. Such a sweet and energetic couple!

Van & Matt met when they were at Stanford (David’s alma mater!) and are getting married next April. They’re an active and outdoorsy couple and because they love hiking, we went to Thornton Beach in Daly City to take some photos on the hike and at the beach. This post starts with some romantic photos on the beach and then shows some fun shots on our hike. Congratulations Van and Matt!
