Nelly & Taylor’s SF City Hall Wedding Day
I’ve been excitedly looking forward to Nelly & Taylor’s City Hall wedding day — after photographing their proposal earlier this year, getting to capture their wedding too felt incredibly meaningful, and it was genuinely an honor to be there again for the “we’re really doing this” part.
They took the opportunity to get married on SF City Hall’s fourth floor balcony, and it felt wonderfully calm up there, above all the noise and chatter of the crowds below. The soft light, marble, and those beautiful arched hallways helped make everything feel a little more timeless. Nelly walked in wearing a classic strapless gown and the kind of veil that absolutely deserves its own shoutout: long and airy, with delicate detailing that matched her train perfectly and trailed behind her so beautifully (especially on the grand staircase!). Taylor looked sharp in a light blue suit, and the way they kept looking at each other during the ceremony had me constantly smiling behind my cameras.
After they said their vows, we wandered through some of my favorite City Hall corners for portraits. And then came one of the highlights of the day: Nelly’s second outfit. She changed into a bold red look that was such a fun contrast to the classic bridal gown. Same couple, same joy, but a totally different vibe. Those photos outside (with the rows of trees and that warm late-day light) were the perfect way to wrap up their romantic, playful celebration.
Nelly & Taylor, congratulations and thank you for letting me tell another chapter of your story!
