Lydia & Jessenia’s Arizona Cactus Garden Maternity Photo Session

It’s been over five years since Lydia and Jessenia’s sweet proposal and four years since we celebrated their wedding, and not long after that, they welcomed their first baby. (David was lucky enough to meet one-month-old J when dropping off their wedding album!) Now, they’ve been blessed with number two, and to memorialize this next chapter, we headed to Stanford’s Arizona Cactus Garden for a golden hour maternity photo session.

The garden’s cacti and succulents glowed in that warm evening light, giving us a lush background for their photos. Lydia wore a light-blue off-shoulder dress that caught the sun just right, and Jessenia’s striped midi felt perfectly modern against the desert backdrop. J was perhaps the true star though, and one of my favorite frames shows him giggling up at his moms as they held hands.

Every time we shoot together, the sun seems to smile with them, its golden light echoing the warmth of their relationship — and this session was no exception. I’m so grateful to have watched their journey from a couple in love to a family of three and now four!
