Helena & Richard’s Monte Bello Open Space Preserve Engagement Photos

Helena and Richard share a love for the outdoors, especially exploring the beautiful California coastline together, and they even got engaged near Big Sur. When it came time for their engagement photos, they decided to trade ocean views for the golden hills of Monte Bello Open Space Preserve, tucked away in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

We spent the afternoon wandering along the trails, surrounded by rolling hills and tall golden grass, under clear blue skies and a warm afternoon sunshine. As the sun dipped closer to the horizon, everything caught the beautiful golden glow we love so much. The sweet little moments and laughter between Helena and Richard made this shoot feel like just a fun afternoon adventure together.

This was a lovely change of scenery from their usual coastal adventures, while still celebrating their shared love for nature. We can’t wait to celebrate their wedding next year!
